There are two ways to look at the importance of background screening accreditation as your company seeks a source of the information required for workplace and housing safety, for example, and for protection of its reputation if the occasional unavoidable error occurs.
The first way to view accreditation is an assurance that a background screening agency’s representation has been thoroughly vetted and passed muster.
The second is as an added layer of protection. If a problem arises with a hiring decision, for example, you should be able to point to due diligence in the selection of your background screening provider. In turn,pointing out the choice of the background screening provider was in accord with nationally established industry best-practices as warranted by NAPBS accreditation.
