The Fallacy of NYS OCA Misdemeanor Redemption Policy

The New York State Office of Court Administration (NYS OCA) will not be providing results regarding a misdemeanor from more than 10 years ago if it was the only criminal conviction the individual had in the last 10 years. But for a person with multiple convictions under different variations of their name, not all criminal information may be provided about an individual’s past convictions. Rather, NYC OCA applies the misdemeanor redemption policy to the name and date of birth, not the person, and each new search is another $95 fee.
