Midterm Election 2018 Update: Voters in Three States Approve Marijuana Use

The results of the recent election have confirmed that the legalization of marijuana is well on its way in most states in the country. In fact, one in four Americans now lives in a state where cannabis is fully legal for all adults. Three states recently approved marijuana use, including Michigan, which will permit the purchase, possession and use of marijuana and marijuana edibles for anyone older than 21; Missouri, which passed Amendment 2, approving the medical use of marijuana; and Utah, where voters approved medical marijuana legalization that allows the medical use of marijuana for those that meet one of 12 qualifying conditions and receive a prescription from their doctor. Sixty percent of voters in North Dakota, however, shot down a measure that would legalize the personal recreational use of marijuana for adults in the state.
