A former district judge in Pennsylvania misclassified more than 800 civil claims as theft of services violations while serving in office from 2014 to 2017. A review of Brenda Williams Nichols has revealed that people had been charged for things like YMCA fees, credit union debts and repair services – all records that should be expunged, according to Democratic Auditor General Eugene DePasquale. The state lost about $33,000 in filing fees as a result of the incorrect filings.
