Challenges for Background Screening in Latin America

The process of conducting background checks is becoming more accepted among human resource professionals in Latin America, but companies that outsource business processes or functions there could face significant challenges. Those businesses could deal with a changing selection process, from the existing socio-economic studies to more substantial vetting processes, like employment and academic verifications and/or criminal record searches. The quality of the workforce could see an increase, as properly verifying documents becomes more important, while discrimination could see a decrease. The shift to background screening should allow Latin American companies to overcome flaws or bad practices.
