Continuous monitoring of employees throughout their employment at any business is not only the key to making CRAs more competitive and successful but also to making American workplaces and communities safer. CRAs should consider the following when implementing a continuous monitoring program: Work with legal counsel to amend hiring and employment policies, become familiar with state laws that regulate the timing on seeking authorization and consent, always investigate alerts of criminal activity, recognize that information can be limited based on the industry, understand the Fair Credit Reporting Act’s (FCRA) adverse action process and update end-user agreements with continuous monitoring customers.
