The big question for employers is the possible impairment of employees while performing the duties of his or her job. Because urinalysis testing cant prove current impairment of an employee due to cannabis, supervisors and HR and occupational and safety committee members should be trained to recognize evidence of impairment, such as the smell of cannabis, unusual behavior, discoloration of the eyes, poor muscle coordination and delayed reaction times.
