What to Know About Background Checks for a Job

The majority of employers complete a comprehensive background check on all potential employees to mitigate risk to their organization. Those worried about past criminal convictions should get to know the Fair Chance to Compete for Jobs Act of 2019, which will become law in December 2021, prohibiting most federal agencies and contractors from asking for criminal background information until a conditional offer is made.
