Verification Services Standards Important for CRAs Seeking PBSA Accreditation

It is important for Consumer Reporting Agencies (CRAs) seeking accreditation by the Professional Background Screening Association (PBSA) to maintain policies and procedures that ensure maximum possible accuracy when obtaining, recording and reporting education verifications and employment verifications for clients. Accredited CRAs must demonstrate conformity with six sections of the Background Screening Agency Accreditation Program (BSAAP). The 10 clauses under Verification Services Standards include: Verification Accuracy, Current Employment, Accredited Academic Institutions, Procedural Disclosures, Verification Databases, Use of Stored Data, Documentation of Verification Attempts, Outsourced Verification Services, Conflicting Data, and Authorized Recipient.
