Trust Stamp Executive Argues Biometrics Need Consistent Definitions and Standards for Flourish

Trust Stamp EVP John Bridge and Dr. Chaminda Hewage believe that there is a rising tension between the privacy and security aspects of biometrics and blames some of the confusion on varying laws from state to state, as well as federal laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Europe’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Complying with each of the laws can be a challenge and the two suggest that a standardized definition of biometric data and the alignment of data laws can improve compliance and provide a much-needed framework.
