UK data protection legislation has historically been largely EU-driven, going back to the 1995 Directive, which was the foundation of the Data Protection Act 1998. Yet, Brexit has caused concern regarding the impact on UK businesses. The future remains unclear and will be determined by the deal/no deal conundrum.
