The FBI Says Fake Job Applicants Are on the Prowl. How Can HR Protect Itself?

Fraud is nothing new in the United States, but fraud related to the remote-work revolution is worth exploring. According to the FBI, fraudsters are using deep fake technology to hide their identity during the video interview process with the intention of securing the position and gaining access to sensitive customer and client information. Businesses can take a couple of important steps to recognize fraud and keep their company safe: 1. Pay close attention during video interviews, 2. Exercise due diligence in checking documents, 3. Conduct at least one in-person interview.
