Police Unveil New Tool to Detect Cannabis-Impaired Driving

A new tool in Minnesota is being tested by some law enforcement officers that will allow them to detect a number of drugs in a driver’s system, including marijuana. With the number of drug-impaired drivers on the rise, the tool is a new way to combat the trend, according to Mike Hanson, director of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety’s Office of Traffic Safety. The SoToxa mobile test system detects the presence of drugs in oral fluid.
