Nearly 700 Workers Arrested in Record Setting ICE Raid in Mississippi

In early August, federal agents of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) arrested about 680 employees believed to be working at several agricultural processing plants across Mississippi without proper authorization. ICE stated that it was determining on a case-by-case basis which individuals would be detained and which would be released from custody. Approximately 300 people had been released the following day.
