Being a nanny is a professional career, so the process should be formalized with an employment contract and a job description that includes a list of what the nanny is expected to do, transportation arrangements, a weekly household schedule, and a pay scale. In addition, certain legal requirements must be met involving pay rates, superannuation, leave, and taxation. The rate of pay should depend upon experience, whether the nanny is an employer or independent contractor, and hours.
