Is the Navy Ready for the “Green Wave?”

In the mid-1980s, the Navy launched a zero-tolerance initiative when it comes to cannabis use, but with just four states left to legalize medical and recreational use and the president campaigning on cannabis reform, it is only a matter of time before big changes take place. Three building blocks that should be considered include the prohibition of cannabis onboard naval installations, the pursuit of rapid testing, and available training and resources. Canada recently implemented a military-wide policy on who could use cannabis and when.
