Information Security Crucial for CRAs Seeking PBSA Accreditation

The Professional Background Screening Association (PBSA) offers accreditation to consumer reporting agencies (CRAs) through its Background Screening Agency Accreditation Program (BSAAP), which serves as a recognized seal of professionalism for background screening firms. To become accredited, CRAs must demonstrate initial and ongoing compliance with the accreditation standard as prepared by the PBSA’s Background Screening Credentialing Council (BSCC), as well as conformity with six sections of the BSAAP Standard. These include Information Security, Legal and Compliance, Client Education, Researcher, and Data Standards, Verification Services Standards, and Business Practices.
