How to Identify and Help Employees with Alcohol Problems

Statistics show that one in 13 Americans either abuse alcohol or are alcoholics, meaning many employees have a problem, costing between $33 billion and $68 billion every year. There are several ways employers can identify and help an employee with alcohol problems. These include reading up on the company policy on drug and alcohol use, consulting the company’s human resource manager, reporting the suspected alcohol abuse, talking to the individual privately, and learning more about alcohol abuse and addiction.
