In 2020, Globe and Mail reported that the national cost to hire a full-time nanny for one child was about CAD $800-$1,000 per week. Hourly rates vary from one community to the next, so this should be considered when determining an appropriate pay scale, as should the cost of living, commuting, types of duties and tasks, experience level, taxes, background checks, and overtime costs.
