The Lemoore City Council introduced an ordinance amending the municipal code to tighten rules for solicitors, peddlers, and transient merchants. The proposal would require solicitors to apply to the police department, submit fingerprints for background checks, and display a city-issued ID card while soliciting. It also sets allowed hours (9 a.m.–7 p.m.), bans solicitation on Sundays, and lets residents add themselves to a “no soliciting” registry. The measure passed its first reading unanimously.
