California’s Attorney General Issues Largest CCPA Fine to Date

California’s Attorney General Rob Bonta secured a record-setting $2.75 million CCPA settlement with Disney, the largest under the California Consumer Privacy Act to date, for failing to fully honor consumer opt-out requests across its streaming services. The enforcement action found Disney’s opt-out tools didn’t stop data sales/sharing on all devices or services. This surpasses a prior $1.55 million settlement with Healthline and underscores an ongoing focus on effective opt-out compliance.
