The 50 State Restoration of Rights Project

The Restoration of Rights Project is an online resource containing detailed state-by-state analyses of the law and practice in each U.S. jurisdiction relating to the restoration of rights and status following arrest or conviction. In addition to the jurisdictional profiles, Project materials include a set of 50-state comparison charts that make it possible to see national patterns in restoration laws and policies and summaries that provide a snapshot of available relief in each state. These summaries constitute the heart of this report, and three of the 50-state charts are also included in appendices.
