Swiss Privacy Laws in 2026: The Best in the World?

Swiss privacy law is anchored in Article 13 of the Swiss Constitution, the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The laws require firms to get explicit consent before collecting or processing personal data and give individuals rights like access, deletion, and data breach notifications. Swiss rules also protect IP addresses as personal data and can extend to foreign companies handling Swiss residents’ data.
