The European Commission published draft standard contractual clauses for transfers of personal data from the European Union to third countries and once approved, the new clauses will replace previous contractual clauses, which pre-date the implementation of the GDPR. The draft clauses are expected to be adopted by the European Commission at the beginning of 2021. Businesses will need to do a remediation project to assess their data transfer arrangements.
