More Americans Injured on the Job Are Testing Positive for Cannabis

There has been a rise in the number of on-the-job accidents and, according to data released by Quest Diagnostics, there is a correlation to positive cannabis tests. Specifically, those who tested positive for cannabis in their system after an accident increased to 7.3 percent in 2022, up from 6.7 percent in 2021. The legalization of marijuana across the country presents increasing challenges for employers, who must create a “safety-focused” culture in the workplace.
