A joint investigation in Malawi revealed that some unregistered local colleges are selling worthless UK and US diplomas from foreign bodies with no real recognition or accreditation. The Business Management Education Centre (UK) and American Institute of Extended Studies (US) are alleged “degree mills” that issue certificates without genuine teaching or exams, leaving students with qualifications that cannot be used for jobs or further study. Regulators plan to shut down illegal colleges and prosecute offenders.
