As a result of the disruption, economists now consider data as the “new oil”, which serves as a beneficiary to either common good or criminality. The government agency responsible for regulating Indonesia’s financial services has officially appointed the Indonesia Fintech Association (AFTECH) to address personal data protection in the financial services sector.
