A former nurse and police officer held a four-hour armed standoff at AdventHealth DeLand Hospital. The 55-year-old man, who had a history of mental health issues and legal troubles, was armed with multiple firearms, including a high-powered rifle. He had previously worked at the hospital and had been involved in a 2017 incident where he shot himself twice in the abdomen during a police standoff. The situation ended peacefully without injuries.
