Ex-DoD Employee to Plead Guilty in Background Check Fraud Case

A former Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency contractor agreed to plead guilty after allegedly submitting 39 fabricated background investigation reports between mid‑2020 and August 2021, costing about $240,000. Supervisors discovered at least six cases where candidates were not interviewed despite paperwork claims. The woman began working for other agencies after termination in August 2021, conducting over 600 investigations until early 2024. Her status conference is set for July 14 in federal court.
