The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has announced a nationwide crackdown on fake academic certificate holders holding positions in formal employment. The DCI says it will work with the Kenya National Qualifications of Authority (KNQA) to remove fraudsters. The agencies’ concern comes amid increasing cases of academic fraud, including a commercial pilot who didn’t have a valid pilot’s license, an HR manager who lied about an undergraduate degree, and an anesthetist who did not have the necessary academic certificates.
