The Chinese economy has marked its emergence into a post-pandemic world with a boom in company numbers and revenue, with more than 200 million entities registered on the China mainland as of January 2021. Almost half are one-person companies, and more than 48 million companies with two or more shareholders are active. The top 500 companies contributed a total revenue of 8602 billion CNY in 2020, an increase of 8.75% in 2019.
