The Leander ISD Police Department is facing a state investigation into its hiring practices and background check process for new officers, less than a year after the district established the force.
The district said it has reinforced its hiring and background investigation processes for the police department. All hiring managers and background investigators are scheduled to complete TCOLE background investigation training this fall, according to the district. Leander ISD said the training is intended to ensure continued compliance with state standards.
