Republicans in the New Hampshire Senate voted 15–9 to reject House-passed legislation that would have legalized marijuana for adults, largely along party lines. The bill, previously approved by the House 208–135, would have allowed adult possession, home cultivation, and regulated retail sales. Supporters argued that legalization could generate about $60 million in revenue and reflected strong public support. Its defeat keeps New Hampshire the only state in New England without legalized adult-use cannabis.
