Kentucky AG Files Lawsuit Against AI Chatbot, Including Claim it Violated New Data Privacy Law

Kentucky’s Attorney General filed a lawsuit on January 8, 2026, against an AI chatbot company, alleging violations of the Kentucky Consumer Data Protection Act, consumer protection law, and data breach law just days after the privacy law took effect. The complaint claims the chatbot exposed children to harmful content, lacked effective age verification and parental consent, and unfairly collected and exploited minors’ data. The AG seeks injunctive relief to stop deceptive practices and protect children.
