Babysitter Interview Questions Every Parent Needs to Ask

Interviewing a potential babysitter is the perfect opportunity to learn about the candidate’s experience, discuss house rules or discipline, and go over any important information about the children and family. A few general questions include things like “How long have you been babysitting?” and “Do you have experience caring for children of X age?” More detailed questions should also be included that gather information about a babysitter’s skills, experience, and the type of job he or she is looking for. Consider asking questions that align with duties and expectations and safety, and consider providing scenarios to see how they would respond in each situation.
