OfficeTeam surveyed 1,007 workers and 307 senior managers in the United States, finding that nearly 50 percent of workers know someone who has lied on a resume, up 21 percent from 2011. Fifty-one percent of men and 39 percent of women responded affirmatively, with the highest percentage occurring in the 18-34 age group. Information that is most commonly misrepresented includes job experience, job duties, education, and employment dates. In addition, more than 1/3 of managers said their company has removed a candidate from consideration after discovering dishonesty on a resume.
