The Illinois Department of Labor (IDOL) has issued guidance on E-Verify in the state, which is not banning the voluntary use of the tool. The IDOL has stated that “employers can opt to use E-Verify even if they are not required to do so under federal law, so long as they comply with other provisions of the Right to Privacy in the Workplace Act.”
