Grab a latte and pull up a chair to join us for a great interview with
Dr. Olga Kozanian, PHD, Director of Sales at Validata..

How long have you been in the background check industry and what led you to join the industry?

I have worked in the background check industry for 5 years. I was increasingly
intrigued by the background check industry when I started accompanying Arvin,
my now husband and CEO of Validata, to the PBSA shows. I hold a doctorate in
neuroscience, so this was a whole new world for me. I was quick to recognize the
opportunity to leverage my understanding of human behavior, along with my

passion for cultivating relationships, to maximize Validata’s reach to key stakehold-
ers and help facilitate their success with our top-tier services.

What is important about your company that you want people to know?

Validata leads with integrity and passion, which is reflected in every single search
and client interaction. We are team players and prioritize building long-term
relationships through our commitment to delivering results that our clients can
consistently depend on.

Any important announcements about products or services or future direction you would like to talk about?

It is important to recognize that the background screening landscape is continuous-
ly evolving. Completing requests is no longer a straightforward process in a lot of

jurisdictions and because we provide results directly from the source, completing
requests often require a multi-step process involving creative thinking and strategic
initiatives in order to keep our standards while combating legislative challenges.

If you had a Crystal Ball and could look into the future, what do you see happening in the background screening industry 10 years from now?

As someone who is also heavily involved in the healthcare field, I firmly believe that background checks should be at the forefront of the hiring process, especially in patient and customer-facing roles. That said, I am optimistic that the legislative system across all jurisdictions will restore identification redactions and prioritize background information as a necessity for a safer and more thorough hiring process.

What is your favorite quote?

It is a tie between:
Life starts at the end of your comfort zone” and “Work hard in silence, let your
success be your noise”

If you could meet anyone regardless of whether the person is alive or not
who would you want to meet and why?

I would like to meet myself 40 years from now to see the difference I have made in
society through my work and charity.
