Woman Charged with Posing as Legal Professional for Years, Allegedly Pocketing $1.4 Million

A 42‑year‑old woman from Surrey Hills, Australia has been charged with five counts of obtaining financial advantage by deception after allegedly posing as a qualified solicitor without a law degree or practicing certificate since 2019. Police say she worked at multiple law firms and earned more than $1.4 million in salary under false pretenses. She has been granted bail and is due to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court as police continue investigating.
