How long have you been in the background check industry and what led you to join the industry? 

I have worked in the background screening industry for more than 27 years, follow-
ing my tenure with the State of North Carolina where I served for almost 13 years as a Magistrate for Mecklenburg County, Charlotte. I began my career managing the background screening group at the Pinkertons, and over the years have since performed just about every job – from feeding fax machines to researcher, VP, and Chief of Compliance. I am excited to have started a new chapter with Interactive Data, LLC as the VP of Background Verification Solutions

What is important about your company that you want people to know?

If you had a Crystal Ball and could look into the future, what do you see happening in the background screening industry 10 years from now?

Transparency, accuracy, and responsible use of technology. More specifically, I
see artificial intelligence playing a significant role in shaping our business practices
moving forward.

who would you want to meet and why? 

Mel Brooks, one of the most brilliant comedic minds in history. I’d love the opportu-
nity to share a single malt and a cigar with him, listening to his stories and insights

from over 90 years of life experience. I would love the chance to ask him about the
incredible events he’s witnessed throughout his lifetime.
