Have Background Checks Become More Important in the Era of Remote Work?

Although the COVID-19 crisis created what was thought to be a temporary situation regarding remote work, the truth is, this method of getting the job done and hiring the right person is here to stay. In fact, a survey conducted by Buffer indicated that 99 percent of respondents would like to work remotely for at least part of the time for the rest of their careers. But when it comes to hiring these individuals remotely, companies must consider the importance of performing a quality background check. Steps that can be taken include building recruitment processes with solid remote recruitment strategies in place, integrating background checks into existing Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and working with background check providers that are leveraging the latest technology.
