Emily shared that she was attending Florida Atlantic University part time and working at a local café and bakery when she decided to sign up with a temp agency to get a new assignment. She was referred to Berg Consulting for her first assignment. After relatively short time, Bruce offered her a full-time position once he realized she had an alright head on her shoulders. She says “It was a serendipitous match for sure!”

One of the things that Emily particularly likes about the background screening industry is that people in the industry are very welcoming and friendly.

She shared that the mission and vision of Berg Consulting Group is to use their years of industry knowledge to help background screening businesses grow and prosper. She emphasized that the team’s respectful and honest guidance ensures business life becomes everything it should be by offering the best vetted, most accurate, and quickest solutions on the market for all your background screening needs. Integrity is what rules their business philosophy and their commitment ensures they plump up your bottom line!

With some excitement in her voice Emily shared that they were hiring new staff to manage the ever-expanding Better Vendor Program, as well as a range of new products that they will be offering clients in the coming months.

She added that “We do offer a FREE cost-savings analysis for potential Better Vendor Program; it doesn’t hurt to see the savings and quality you may be missing out on with your current vendor network.”

She noted that the company wants to be a resource to the industry, in any way they can. She smiled as she said “If you call us with a problem or question, we almost always have the answer or solution for you!”

I asked her my favorite question about what she sees coming in the background screening industry 10 years down the road. She reflected for a moment and then said, “I think in 10 years or less, everything will be online. Without court runners, turnaround time and price competitiveness will be far less important than quality and customer service.”

Turning the conversation back to her she shared that she had recently read ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ by Margaret Atwood and ‘After Dark’ by Haruki Murakami.

She also shared that the person she would most like to meet is Ernest Hemingway.

We closed the interview with her sharing her favorite quote – “Travel light, live light, spread the light, be the light” – Yogi Bhajan
