Question:
ABC, Inc. is a CRA. It provided a consumer report to its client XYZ. XYZ calls and indicates it believes there is an error in the report and requests that ABC review the report and correct the issue if it is truly an error. What is ABC’s obligations to the consumer as a result of this request?

a. ABC should follow the usual re-investigation process proscribed by the FCRA.

b. ABC does not need to provide anything to the consumer.

c. The request from XYZ should be treated the same as any other request for a report.

d. Since the request is from the end user and not the consumer, there is no need for ABC to do anything other than determine whether there was an error and make a verbal report to XYZ.
