Federal Court Rules for Applicant in Medical Marijuana Employment Discrimination Case

A recent decision by the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, Noffsinger v. SSC Niantic Operating Company, LLC, addresses the intersection of cannabis law and employment discrimination law. The plaintiff in the case applied for and accepted a job offer from a health and rehabilitation center, but, after disclosing her use of medicinal marijuana as a qualifying patient and testing positive for THC, she was denied the position. The plaintiff sued under Connecticuts medical marijuana law and was granted summary judgment.
