Criminal Record Check Frauds Still Going Unreported Say Experts

Although Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks are used by employers to inspect the criminal history of people they plan on hiring, Action Fraud has reported 138 incidences of people being asked to pay upfront for DBS certificates that never materialised between April 2017 and March 2018. Experts told People Management that the true extend of frauds could be far greater than the figures suggested, since many cases are either not reported or people do not know where to report to. Action Fraud encourages job candidates to research the offer to be sure it is genuine before paying for security checks.
